You have too little space remaining in your browser localstorage for html sugarcube twine games save files. Unholy arts does have sizable saves but for you to not be able to make even a single one means you probably have too many saves from other games. You can use the "save to disk" feature to get around this problem, but you could also free up some space by deleting older saves.

Here is a little tutorial (for chrome, but should be a similar process for other browsers):
1. open/select a browser tab with a sugarcube html game on it (e.g unholy arts)
2. open dev tools on that tab (f12 on chrome)
3. find the "localstorage". For Chrome, go to the Applications tab, then Storage > Local storage (which should have a single item, probably "file://")
4. after clicking that item, it should list a number of Keys, those should be be all related to save data of other sugarcube games, start deleting any you know you won't use anymore to clear up space
I have Opera GX not Chrome, and it's sadly not that easy to find local storage on the devtools on there, that said I did the next best thing and cleared my cache and cookies which as far as I'm aware should delete every HTML save file in my storage, the problem did not go away I still cannot get a single save file on the new Unholy Arts update, and the issue is only with that game.

, I don't know if the GX version changes anything but hopefully not. Do it in a browser page where a downloaded sugarcube html game is open.

If the above doesn't work, then unfortunately I don't know how to fix the problem. Unholy Arts savefiles are pretty big compared to most html games, but for it to exceed the quota is usually only a problem because the browser puts all sugarcube games' save files on one shared localstorage space. In that case, the problem of exceeding the quota will show up first on a game with bigger save files, but it would eventually start showing up for all html games as the browser struggled more and more to allocate enough free space. Maybe the Opera GX browser does things differently and I'm misinterpreting the problem, but in my experience that has been the issue with managing Unholy Arts save files through a browser.

You could still just save to disk and use those saves to play the game, but I understand that's way more clunky to use than when the browser handles it directly.

Recently return to this game after almost a whole year. A bummer old saves can't work anymore but wow the new animations are beautiful.

Though it kind of spark my curiosity about the "canon" tits and peen sizes of the girls. You know, for better immersion!
Funny you'd mention that...I recently commissioned some fanart from about the peens. I can't claim any of it as being canon since it is just fanart and I asked her to get a bit creative with the shapes, but I hope people find it "immersive" all the same.

Development has been really slow during the last few weeks because I've had a tons of days of medical tests, which is the reason why I've paused payments on Patreon. Things should be back on track soon though.

Considering the 2nd adventure is about a fighting tournament, I'm kind of curious about how scripted the fights of the other candidates will be. From a story perspective it would make sense that Nash and Claw would be the ones that make it the furthest into the tournament.

But on the other hand it would kind of be really funny if through the player's mentoring, Ate or Mir could have levelled their physical stats enough to have a chance of lucking out a combat victory and win the whole thing.

The vast majority of the matches are going to be scripted. Making the tournament dynamic wouldn't be too difficult, but making any result possible while still making it narratively compelling would require far more branches than I'm willing to write, or be deemed reasonable by most players who want the game to progress. The one unavoidable story split comes whenever the player loses any match, though there may be another one further down the line.

I appreciate the comment, but please keep in mind that it isn't always clear-cut cases of "this is downtime" and "this isn't downtime". Chili Cherry keeps working on the game even if I can't, so she has to receive her salary, which she got despite the game not getting any earnings in July. This time I just paused Patreon because things had gotten extremely busy for me and the next update would take far more time than usual, but on the previous occasion we didn't pause Patreon, and instead she worked extra hours for what I would have normally earned. This may happen again on the future, as I can't just say "ok, this month I'll get no income AND pay this person's salary anyway" from time to time. If someone would prefer to pause their subscription for a bit when that happens, that's understandable as well.

the fact you identified "I'm literally not doing any work this month, I'd feel bad taking money, even though I still gotta pay Cherry" and still did it anyway is already way more than I'd have expected.

idk if i can speak for all your patreons, but I'd have had no qualms paying for July, because these things take time. I just really respect the way you handled last month; nobody would've asked you to, but you did what you felt was right anyway.
In a setting where patreon owners go MIA and still get tonnes of money (looking at you Silver Bard), it was a refreshing surprise.

keep doing what you gotta do, and don't stress too much about meeting self-imposed deadlines; your health comes first.

Hello,

I'm having a bug where in my status screen it shows me having equipped a weapon but it doesn't show up in the item menu as equipped at the end of the day and I get the message "The selected item couldn't be equipped on the selected character." when I try to equip a different weapon. The reset items hotfix doesn't seem to work for this either. I cheated in a spear at the start and equipped it long before I reached the merchant event which may have caused the issue. If I remove the spear from my inventory using the cheat menu it removes the spear from my status page but replaces it with whatever other item I have (Even other equipment that isn't a weapon like toys). Definitely my fault for using cheats and I know it's rather niche, but is there a fix for this?

On the subject of dynamic tournaments, while it wouldn't work for story events, it could be a fun mechanic for the passion temple loop that would only get unlocked after the 2nd adventure.

Weekly dynamic tournaments between the candidates + guests with rulesets that are either randomized or voted for by the candidates (phys only/magic only/seduction only). You'd only need to write some generic lines for the victor (maybe some funny ones for weird scenarios like Padmiri winning phys, Claw winning seduction, Nash winning magic, etc) and the winner of the tournament could gain a good chunk of merit or something.

I've encountered a strange error with various interactions. It occurs on any version of 4.5.5c, no matter Supported or Free. I just get an error message and cannot proceed further. It happens in different places and I have to load very early saves or start the game over.

Saving the game at any place other than where the game tells you that you should be able to will almost always break your save. Did you edit the game yourself to be able to do that or was the version you downloaded already modified?

It's only the second week, wtf did Mir do to get 11 infamy lmao?? I haven't seen her in any bouts so I don't think she's been challenging a bunch of people, especially since almost nobody has merit yet

She has more infamy than Claw what the hell is the plant up to
