Unless it changed, denying orgasms during sex is the most effective method of increasing submission. If that's your goal, focus entirely on dealing as much lust damage per turn to your partner so you can chain deny orgasms as many times as possible in the 30 turns.

Well it's tagged mind control but it's one of the lightest form of mind control out there. Early on you can unlock 3 special powers, one of them hypnosis. It's a random dialog option when you chat that increases your dominance and the target's submission, in combat it's a pretty bad attack that targets willpower, and in a few random events (though maybe just a single event with Claw, can't think of others) it unlocks actual mind control situations.
If you came to the game for that content you'll be disappointed.

I wouldn't call it bad at all. It's got a high hit chance and targets control. It feeds nations on lower difficulties in 1v1 scenarios where you just need control damage.
In other news on revisiting the game, claw relation gain still seems to not exist for either virginities or anything else if the first fight is a draw, it's a weird bug.

It's been a while since I played this but when you do the one-time option to decide your preferences how are preferences like Domination and Submission framed in that option? Like if I choose Submission for example, does that mean that my character has a preference for being in a submissive position or preferring npcs to be in that position?
An old save of mine isn't working with the new update, is there anyway to fix it?
Is it just me or am I bad at the combat, because when I challenged Claw to a duel she always beats me.
It looks like it's from a version 0.3.X, which aren't compatible with versions 0.4.X
Recently return to this game after almost a whole year. A bummer old saves can't work anymore but wow the new animations are beautiful.

Are there any ways to command NPCs into positions outside of getting them to mount you from behind? Group sex feels extremely clunky, because it takes so long for characters to cycle through leading, and while leading constantly reset positions that have been assigned.
I know there's the ability to incite assertiveness or whatever it's called, but without an ability that AOE reduces lead points it doesn't actually seem to do much.

There are some more 3some positions you can command while you have the lead, like extra kneel to get a double blowjob, but in general you can't coordinate an entire orgy alone, the AI of other candidates doing what they feel like is part of the game, you can try to offer feedback and see if the dev can fine-tune the orgy mechanics and AI in the future, but I don't see you having complete control unless the dev adds a "director mode" cheat to sex scenes.
However, there are some things you can do to manipulate sex scenes. Selectively draining willpower before an egalitarian sex scene will effectively remove some characters from being able to take the lead, as the replenishment of the "lead gauge" is based on the character's willpower. If you pair characters with low willpower with characters with high willpower, then positions should be a bit more stable as the low willpower characters won't have the lead often enough to break out of positions where they are bottoming.
If you have the solo-lead of a sex scene, you can command the characters you want to be able to top to "take initiative", that way they should put other characters in sex positions and the characters that don't have the initiative or the lead shouldn't be able to break out of it.
I suppose it's a problem with the core lead system, because if you have 5+ characters it results in a lot of standing around doing nothing. It might become a bit easier as more actions become available, I guess.
It improves a bit after characters have access to all sex actions including 3some actions (day 13+, depends on RNG for how long it takes them to read the appropriate books) and after more characters learn hypnosis and magical bondage (after the first adventure).
Welp, this is the first time I've ever had this issue, and it's for the very first save point in the game, wtf XD.
You have too little space remaining in your browser localstorage for html sugarcube twine games save files. Unholy arts does have sizable saves but for you to not be able to make even a single one means you probably have too many saves from other games. You can use the "save to disk" feature to get around this problem, but you could also free up some space by deleting older saves.
Here is a little tutorial (for chrome, but should be a similar process for other browsers):
1. open/select a browser tab with a sugarcube html game on it (e.g unholy arts)
2. open dev tools on that tab (f12 on chrome)
3. find the "localstorage". For Chrome, go to the Applications tab, then Storage > Local storage (which should have a single item, probably "file://")
4. after clicking that item, it should list a number of Keys, those should be be all related to save data of other sugarcube games, start deleting any you know you won't use anymore to clear up space
